Yeah mate. I always forget about Black Mirror with them being standalone stories, but catch up on an episode whenever I remember. There are some truly brilliant stories.
Someone suggested we run a vote with just two options, so the “votes for change” are not diluted. “Scale E6” was the most popular option among the new sounds.

@Mr_Dome @Stephen_Bean — three years on, this one is now live. You can each choose your own.
Your profile page → Preferences has a new Vote Sounds section. Each of the four kinds of vote you
receive — caption or comment up-vote, super-vote, down-vote, photo up-vote — has its own dropdown, with a
play button next to it so you can try a sound before you keep it. Silent is one of the options, on any
of the four. Your choices are saved to your account, so they follow you from device to device, and they
take effect straight away on any tab you already have open.
There are eleven sounds to pick from: the five the site has used (the original beep and the four 2023
sounds), plus the six that scored highest in the polls above — bell transition, magic mallet, dreamy bells,
scale E6, twinkle sparkle and yipee. @Chris_Beach asked for roughly ten drawn from those polls, so that is
the shortlist rather than everything that was posted in the thread. The tubular bell of death is not among
them — it was never on either ballot, though several of you wanted it for the down-vote.
Nothing changes for anyone who does not open Preferences: the sounds you hear today are still the defaults,
and the banner saying who voted still appears even if you choose Silent.
