WarGames? I suspect James is right though and no idea whether a new version of WarGames has been made. I haven’t subscribed to Netflix for over a year as they don’t do foreign language subtitles as well as Disney and Amazon Prime. If they ever start doing Hungarian subtitles on their shows then I’ll have no time for caption.me.

Suggestion, Chris:
Reading everyone’s comments, it seems the concensus may be to revert to the old Supervote sound and adopt tubular bell of death for the downvote.
The regular caption upvote and photo upvote sounds may be worth running a poll on. Choices could be the old sound and a handful of new options. Steve’s list seems like a good cross section:
We could have 2 or 3 votes each, with the top voted sound becoming the caption vote sound and the runner up becoming the photo vote sound.

Just thought I’d mention that the current upvote sounds have received the thumbs up from my elderly mum. The old one used to make her jump and I had to turn down the volume so as not to startle her. I’m happy with anything really as long as it isn’t the intro to Bat out of Hell. That’s guaranteed to give any octogenarian a fright.

I loved the old sound particularly because of its mildly alarming quality. Perhaps we could compromise, Karyn, and buy your mum some earmuffs? Alternatively, you could write worse captions 
Joking, of course. Like you I’m happy with whatever sounds the consensus prefers.
A further thought, Chris. As there are 3 regular upvote types, perhaps we could allocate 1 of the 3 favourite sounds to each: Caption; Comment; Photo.

I like that idea. Perhaps we’ll do a series of votes. Let people pick the caption upvote sound in the first round, and then have another couple of rounds for the other vote types.

I’m suddenly feeling really nostalgic for the original sound. I’d forgotten the dopamine rush I used to experience whenever I heard that ping. 
Admittedly, the new one, though still very welcome, does not have quite the same effect on me.

A really selfish point probably, but I do wonder how intrusive / annoying the longer more musical sounds may be. One of my more spectrum-like traits is my brain can’t handle 2 different types of music playing at once.
I often game, or watch TV, with caption.me running in the background, and I know if one of the longer musical sounds is selected I’ll have to stop this. But that’s me and my weird brain, so nobody should let it affect their choice unless they’re similarly wired.

I just changed two of my votes… it’s funny how your view of a sound changes the more times you hear it 
ps. if it comes down to a choice between two or three then perhaps there should be another poll with just these 2 or 3 choices. Long term it will be great to eventually have an individual choice.

I think I’m beginning to feel the same way about the longer choices. I’ve settled on the 2 second e6 and removed my votes for magic mallet and dreamy bells which would make it a two horse race between e6 and the old sound. I also suspect James you might have voted for the old sound to prevent the longer sounds being used and might prefer e6.
If the old sound stays on top maybe we could try the runner up sound (e6 at the moment) for a day or two.

Nope, Steve. The old sound is my clear favourite. I was tempted to vote for it alone.
That said, I think any sound will become more favourable once our brains associate it with success. I’m already warming to the new sound.
But I do love the old one
