I’m pleased to announce we’re now using a more modern and powerful forum system, called VanillaForums 


It’s very extensible with loads of plugins to try out, so you may see a few new features appearing over the coming days.

Last night I migrated all posts from the old forum. We’ll be missing a few created in the last 24 hours, but these posts are available in the old forum, which I’ll keep running for a couple of weeks.

Could you please check that your browser displays the new forum as per the screenshots below, and let me know if there’s any dodginess. Thanks!


If you’re on a Windows PC using an old browser like Internet Explorer, the site won’t look as polished. I recommend using a modern browser like Chrome or Firefox. Or upgrading to a Mac :-)

Yes, that’s how it looks for me. Just had an error screen which contained a load of code but I think that was because I went into a thread “sdsd” which I think was you doing some testing. I hit the back arrow which brought up the error screen, probably because you’d deleted the thread by then.


Where did your other photo go?

Hi John - spell checking is built into Chrome and Firefox, and the default browser (Safari) if you’re on a Mac.


If you’re using Windows and Internet Explorer I’d politely recommend you use a more modern browser.

ah that photo - yes, the new forum uses Gravatar to find your photo, so for me it was a bit out-of-date, what with a full head of hair an’ all!

Ah, it’s likely we clashed on the “sdsd” thread as I deleted it. 


Sorry, I’m being a bit slow - when you say other photo, which photo are you referring to?
