I don’t feel it’s entirely fair I judge the cash prize winner as I have no real comedy credentials, other than having read almost all of the 40,270 captions submitted to my site.

I can’t help there but you gave me an idea… what about if part of the monthly prize is to pick the following months winner? So you get 50 quid and then you have to pick the following months winner? If that person leaves or whatever, the runner-up picks? I can’t see how any cheating can happen if there are rules and guidelines that you maybe email to the winner on how to choose and then give them the list of captions to choose from. Just an idea to put you on until someone famous comes along maybe?
I don’t think I’d like that. It could lead to suggestions of corruption.

Comedian Tim Vine is in my opinion the undisputed comedy pun master. I am not sure if he would offer his services as a judge, but if you donÂt ask, you donÂt get.

That could very well mean that the winners are all pun-based.
At one time, there were full-length cartoon captions being submitted and winning.
