Submit Photo’s?

I am pretty new round these parts so this may have come up before…In our daily lives we all see some pretty wacky things going on and have phone cameras immediately to hand. How about we submit some pics? If used the originator would not be allowed to caption however could receive some points for it being used?

There are quite a few captioneers who add photos to caption.me. I’ve added a few recently:

I decided to follow your advice of not captioning my own photos. It removes the temptation to choose a photo to fit a caption. 

At the moment caption.me automatically assigns copyright at the bottom of each photo to the person who submits the photo. Until it is possible to acknowledge the source and original photographer, I shall not use any photographs that are not my own. 

The latest 20 photos in the pool appear not to be the original work of the captioneers submitting them. 3 already have votes…

This large number of new captions does make it unlikely that any of the professional photographers submitting captions to caption.me will have their photographs chosen. I was hoping to encourage my local photography club to submit photos, but it appears they will have little chance of being chosen.

Hi Chris - I do intend to make it easier for people to submit photos, removing our dependency on Flickr altogether. When this work is complete, you’ll be able to quickly and easily upload photos to the site, and we’ll run weekly “Top 10” lists of photographers according to photo voting.

I’d like to be able to give a super-vote to the caption I like the most on a photo I’ve submitted. I wouldn’t want to devalue the hard earnt super-votes that others have gained though.

Perhaps we could show "photographer's choice" against the photographer's favourite caption on their photo.

Would it be ok for now to add a comment saying ‘photographer’s favourite’ and delete it and add it to another caption if a better one comes along?

Just to let everyone know I’ve added another photo into the pool. Hopefully adding it now will give everyone lots of time to think about it.
