Whilst I appreciate that whatever permutation tried it will not suit everyone, I think that the quota for voting may miss the mark and encourage the type of silly voting race experienced recently. I have always placed more votes than captions but will not vote for things that I do not consider funny or clever. I think that if there were a standard reward for reaching a set figure - say a minimum of 40 votes per week, rather than making the bonus into a race for the top, it may help retain the integrity of the voting.
Chris, maybe I should know this already, but I was wondering, if we don’t use up all our quota one week, does it get carried over? I use all mine up so have never known what happens if not.
Nope, quotas don’t carry over
Chris
Thanks Chris
I myself am slightly confused about the old quota issue. Week 1 Dec, I scored 118 votes and voted 117 times resulting in a quota of 59 for last week. Week 2 I scored 150 votes using only 45 captions and voted 69 times which resulted in me recieving a higher quota of 64 this week even though I voted less. I know I wont use them all this week as I prefer to go for quality over quantity and I feel its a little unfair for me to have so many, when others have so few.
I don’t know what has been tried before but I feel that everyone should have an even chance at the begining of each week, although I understand that bonuses need to be awarded to encourage voting I am concerned that people are voting just because their vote number is displayed on the leader board.
