How do I delete a caption that is a duplicate or has no votes?

Much has changed….I have a hard time to understand how to edit or delete a caption that has no votes….

Hi Guideaux, my friend from the Netherlands. You are right much has changed ( including my user name since when we exchanged the occasional DM on here many years ago). I think the edit option is locked down after 24 hours so I wouldn’t worry about changing or deleting the accidental duplicate caption from yesterday morning. I’m sure a vote for the earlier version of the caption instead would be appreciated.

Chris has been continually improving the site, including measures to try and reduce duplicates, which are more often than not done accidentally.

Hope all is well with you and happy captioning!

Welcome back @Guideaux_Pelagos! Glad to see a familiar face back on caption.me.

To get to the edit and delete buttons, please click the caption text - this will take you to the caption page where you will see more options.

Let me know how you get on.

Adding to Chris and Troompa.

Once marked as a ‘dupe’, captions can’t be edited or deleted. This allows those who may have voted for a dupe to potentially notice this, and hopefully then cast a vote towards the earlier caption.
