Chris teaching Molly and I how to make the text look bigger on a photo, by putting text on diffferent lines after voting, has made me wonder…
Could we do this at the time we submit a caption?
I know showing captions-on-photo would take up too much space in the voting list, but you could be shown it when you submit a caption and vote. It should only take an extra few seconds…
Advantages would include:
- Preventing voting by accidently clicking on vote (most of mine - just kidding wink)
- Not having to remember to do it 3 days later
- Being able to see how it might look on a photo without having to imagine it
- A chance to edit your caption if you would like it to look different on a photo

Please, Funny Bean, do not use ‘saying nice things about people’s captions and voting generously’ as a bargaining chip. Leave the comments alone and concentrate on the captions (posting and reading others’), you’ll even see all Charles Gleason’s captions.

I cannot see why anybody would want change their mind about voting if a caption doesn't appear as they wish on the photo! The whole point, surely, is to find the funniest, wittiest and/or cleverest caption - not to make other people's work look the way you want, in order to re-post it elsewhere.
Until this subject came up here I had no idea that the caption could be added to the photo, and I still don't see the point in it. Since I never get involved in Antisocial Media, I will certainly never be adding my text to a photo, nor editing the text to be anything different from that on which people may already have voted. Other people's mileage may, of course, vary.
Chris, when I try to remove the “add caption to picture” tick on one of my captions, it doesn’t work. I am taken to https://www.caption.me/core/scripts/entryActioner.php which renders a blank page.

Ah, right - I got the impression from your wording “A chance to change your mind about voting if the caption doesn’t look great on the photo” that the way a caption might display on a photo was more important to you than the caption itself. Of course, that’s up to you; but I suspect that there would be others who do not agree with that angle.
